Foodie Tuesdays: Tomato-Avocado salad!

Peace Soulstars,

Avocados aren’t for everyone.  It has taken me years to acquire a taste for avocados so I get it.  I decided to try to make it work because I know they’re good for me.  I’ll get into the health benefits tomorrow but one of the benefits is that they contain healthy fats.  Back to the texture…It’s something about the texture for some or the “tastelessness” of the fruit in general.  Did you know that avocados were a fruit?  Well, avocados are a fruit that have a subtle taste naturally which makes them a food that easily takes on the taste of other foods it’s mixed with.  Everyone’s taste buds are different.  This is my experience with avocados.  Yours may be different.  Anyway,  I tried this recipe from a few weeks ago.  I wanted to share for those who love avocados.

Tomato-avocado salad is packed with flavor and one of my favorite herbs :  cilantro!  As mentioned before, if you’re not a fan of the texture of avocados then I’d say leave this one alone.   Maybe try it with something crunchy like pita chips or tortilla chips.  You can also add beans for added flavor and texture.  That’s the good thing about this recipe.  I think it allows for playing around with ingredients which I love about cooking.  You may discover that adding your own twist makes it perfect for you.  How do you prefer to eat avocados?  Do you eat them solo or do you add them to other foods for more depth?  Let me know in the comments!

Love and Light,
