Spiritual Thursdays: Empower yourself by living from the inside out

It’s been quite a beginning of the week.  Last week, I shared the importance of music in helping or harming your emotional, mental, and physical state.  As you embark on your spiritual journey, it’s important to grasp the skill of avoiding as much negative energy as possible.  Now, realistically we cannot always avoid negative energy.  Sometimes it’s in our best interest to face it because those are opportunities in disguise; opportunities to learn.  For those negative frequencies that need to be avoided we must learn to tune into positive frequencies to transform negative to positive.

For example,  something we all can relate to is this week’s election which brought on some heavy negative frequencies for many.  People (including myself) were online expressing their thoughts and feelings about the results.  Well, this can cause things to go south pretty quickly because when it comes to certain topics especially politics tensions can rise.  When tensions rise, chaos develops.  If you continue to stay online reading negative comments and other information about the topic that anger you this is tuning into negative frequencies.

As a result, your anger intensifies, you post something on social media out of anger and have some negative thoughts.  You get the point.   In order to transform the negative to positive you have to be in tune with yourself enough to set limits.  Know when to shut it off.  This may require a positive distraction.  Normally, I don’t recommend distractions but in this case and in the event of an “emergency” they’re necessary.

I used this opportunity to look within for answers on how I could empower myself and others.  I didn’t share any negative content or engage in discussions that didn’t serve me.  I started my day off with prayer and meditation as I’ve been doing for a while now.  I was also inspired by an article I found online about group economics and felt an instant boost of motivation while reading it.  I shared the link to the article on social media although I’m not sure many were interested.   I just didn’t want to contribute to any negativity.

I’ve done that in the past and honestly, it never works out in your best interest.  I’m all about changing self before I can even think about change happening in society.   That’s how I choose to move forward and stop the old negative pattern of letting outside forces control my emotions aka “living from the outside in”.   Also, it won’t hurt to engage with likeminded individuals.  It’s okay to discuss your feelings good and bad but it’s not healthy to sit in that space for long.  At some point you have to figure out a way to empower yourself.  If you continue to live from the outside in there’s no way empowerment will happen.
