Inspire Me Mondays: Vulnerability Doesn’t Make You Weak…

Peace Soulstars,

That moment may be different for each person.  Usually a moment means a “short period of time”.  Well, I think it’s safe to say that a moment can be months or years even.  The point is that despite being knocked down you eventually get back up.  It’s not “weak” to show emotion or to be vulnerable.

Last week, I stepped out of my comfort zone and into the seat of vulnerability by sharing my experience with postpartum depression.  It wasn’t easy and I had put it off for a long time because I wasn’t sure I wanted to share my story.  Since I’ve been embarking on my spiritual journey and healing myself I thought I’d share what motivated me to go into the mental health field.  It was my own battle with depression that made me want to look into this further and help others.  I made it my mission, my motivation to get my Master’s degree in social work because of it.

Love and light,

Angelica is my name. I'm a licensed graduate social worker from the DMV who has love for everything mind, body, soul related. A devoted wife and mother whose interests include music, art, yoga, books, exercise, meditation, and cooking. Amanisoul is a synthesis of the name "Amani" which means harmony and peace in swahili and the word "soul" which means essence or spiritual self. Discovering one's inner peace involves being healthy mentally, emotionally, physically, and spiritually. I make it my mission to spread the word on how to achieve balance in all of these areas.
