Energy goes where attention flows. If you continuously focus on lack, that is what you will attract. Forget about saving gratitude for Thanksgiving ( a man made holiday). Gratitude everyday! Don’t forget to double the gratitude when you get to where you’re trying to go. It’s even more crucial then.

I hope everyone had a great week! Despite perceived obstacles always remember that you have a choice to manifest your reality and whatever that reality is it’s a work in progress. Every day is a chance to move closer to that reality. Start with self care.
If you don’t take care of yourself, you are doing not only yourself but others around you a disservice. These steps are only a guide. Use them at your own discretion and tweek where necessary. It’s for inspiration purposes.
If you follow me on Instagram, you’ll see that I’ve been participating in a twelve day yoga challenge. This was one of the best decisions I’ve made all year! It has motivated me to keep that appointment with myself everyday.
I’m not only improving my total wellbeing (yoga is perfect for mind, body,soul alignment) but the wellbeing of my family as well. When I’m out of alignment, they have to deal with it. I prefer being aligned not only for me but for them. If we don’t take responsibility for ourselves, nothing will improve. It’s in our own hands.
What we do and how we react not only affects us but those we come into contact with; especially those we care about the most. If everyone took the time to practice more self care the world would be a much better place but we cannot control what everyone else does. We can only control what we do.

When faced with difficult circumstances sometimes we’re left feeling incomplete. That feeling often leads to depression, anxiety and other emotional issues. When left untreated or not addressed, these issues eat away at our spirit. Some describe the feeling as being broken. In a way you are because you’re out of alignment with your spirit. Spirit gives you life.
Those feelings you get are an indication from your spirit that it needs healing. The hope lies in your ability to heal yourself. Healing is possible and most certainly can resolve feeling broken. What matters is not that you’ve been broken but how you put the pieces back together.
I admire those who manage to endure the unimaginable yet they come back stronger than they were before. Think of Tina Turner aka Anna Mae Bullock and how she overcame drug addiction and physical abuse. She found freedom through meditation after being introduced to Buddhism by a friend. Tina found a way to put the pieces back together right when she was about to give up. That’s alchemy. She’s an alchemist. We’re all alchemists but we’ve forgotten how to use our abilities.
Sometimes we use our power unconsciously because it’s a part of our nature. We use our power but can’t recall how it works. We believe that someone or something else is responsible when the outcome is in our favor. So, we downplay it as coincidence, luck etc.
We externalize our power instead of acknowledging that it’s within us. We allow people, circumstances and other outside influences to gain control of our feelings. This throws the spirit off because it’s been pushed out of the driver’s seat. It’s not used to being a passenger. I either lost you there or you’re following me.
You may be able to think of more but I can guarantee at least two takeaways from this:
- No situation is permanent unless you choose to make it permanent.
- Sometimes you break because you need to in order to become what you were meant to become.

Hello to all of you beautiful people. Unfortunately, once again I’ve managed to let time pass without blogging regularly. Thanks to computer issues (damn Mac chargers are the worst!) and of course…life, I was unable to blog like I wanted to. I could’ve done so from my phone which isn’t a bad idea. I may start doing that sometimes but it’s not the same. Although, I have to be honest in saying that I think I bit off a little more than I could chew. I went from more of free flow blogging to daily blogging which was good information but ultimately became too much for me to keep up with. It wasn’t my style to just blog for the sake of blogging. When that happens it becomes less authentic and more contrived. The latter doesn’t resonate with me at all. Needless to say, from now on I’ll be blogging more regularly.
I have so much to share from all things spirituality to some great recipes using foods that increase your vibration and of course mental health. I’ve discovered some meditation techniques that work for pain reduction and anxiety especially a good one for menstrual pain. Oh, and I haven’t updated you on how I was able to heal myself from an ovarian cyst that I was diagnosed with late last year. Yoga, meditation, diet and just overall lifestyle changes work wonders!
The more I read, open my mind to new ways of thinking and appreciate different perspectives the more I learn. I cannot wait to share what I’ve learned with you. Before you speak, ask yourself three questions:
Is it true?
Is it necessary?
Is it kind?
If not, it’s wise to keep quiet and continue to observe. It’s never been a bad idea to be highly observant. Remain vigilant of everything and be mindful of what is being said, done, and most importantly how things make you feel. We cannot control what goes on externally but we have total control over our inner peace. Be protective of your inner peace. Keep watch over it the same as you would your most prized possession. If people are uncomfortable with your silence, then let them. You don’t have to feel compelled to do anything against your will.

Hmmm, menstruation…The “dreaded” topic of discussion by many…Embraced by so few yet a process that’s so powerful and even majestic but only some have come to actually realize it’s more of a blessing than a “curse”. I actually don’t see it as a “curse” at all. I have no proof of such for one but I admit that I once believed that when Eve took a bite out of that apple it marked our doom as women. Eventually, I started to question some of my old habits and beliefs. As a woman, feminism is an intricate part of my being and menstruation plays a major role in femininity. Why the shame?
How could something so sacred that makes us creators of life be deemed part of a curse? God forbid more women actually start thinking for themselves and seek truth on their own which can lead to gradual de-stigmatization of feminism. How about replacing that sense of shame with empowerment, self love, perhaps even alchemy? That level of transformation would be a true game changer. In all honesty, it can be extremely painful and damn near debilitating for some. Thankfully, I’m not in that category but I have my days when the pain is heavier than usual so I make self care mandatory.
Your menses is for slowing down, release, and introspection. If you don’t meditate often, make a point to do something relaxing during this time. Pampering yourself does wonders. Remember meditation is not limited to sitting in lotus pose. I cannot stress enough how imperative rituals are at this time. Our menstrual cycles not only represent a time to rest but also time to reconnect to spirit. Rituals, meditation, introspection, and even journaling can aid in releasing anything that does not serve you especially those suppressed emotions. The relaxation and pampering serves to transmute any hurt, anger or other negative energy that is released.
Women have a deep rooted connection to nature making us exceptional as physical and spiritual beings. Since the beginning of time women have reverenced nature to connect with spirit, higher self, God or some higher power depending on the culture. Universally speaking, menstruation is where femininity and spirituality meet. As Nuit Moore so eloquently stated “menstruation is sacred beautiful lunar ancient holy feminine power”.

My love for essential oils for dates back to childhood when my mother introduced me to tea tree oil. My stash contains over 15 types of oils including most of the ones on this list. My favorites and most used are tea tree (melaleuca), lavender, and peppermint oils. Although I love many of the others too. I just need to familiarize myself with the new additions which include frankincense, myrrh, and clary sage to name a few.
I’ve used essential oils for everything from skin care to adding them to my vacuum filter for some aromatherapy while cleaning. One of our favorite ways to use essential oils is with a diffuser. Aromatherapy is a necessity in our home because we love anything that smells good. It has a tremendous affect on your mood and health in general. There are many different uses for essential oils as you can see and I haven’t even shared all of the ones I’ve tried. I’ll be sharing them periodically on the blog because I use them on a daily basis. Hope you find the above list of essential oils helpful!
