Inspire Me Mondays: Energy Speaks Louder than Words

Peace Soulstars,

Just a helpful reminder that has become quite useful for me lately:

Before you speak, ask yourself three questions:

Is it true?

Is it necessary?

Is it kind?

If not, it’s wise to keep quiet and continue to observe.  It’s never been a bad idea to be highly observant.  Remain vigilant of everything and be mindful of what is being said, done, and most importantly how things make you feel.  We cannot control what goes on externally but we have total control over our inner peace.  Be protective of your inner peace.  Keep watch over it the same as you would your most prized possession.  If people are uncomfortable with your silence, then let them.  You don’t have to feel compelled to do anything against your will.

Inspire Me Mondays: Gotta have faith!

faithsteps

Without faith dreams cannot become reality…Can you imagine what the world would be like if Martin Luther King Jr. didn’t take the steps he took to acquire equal rights for all beings?  Granted, we have work to do but just imagine where we would be starting from if one man did not take that first step to fighting against injustice.  He also did so peacefully.  Fear didn’t keep him from chasing his dream.  He stood fear in the face and kept going even when he got knocked down literally and figuratively.  What an inspiring being Martin Luther King Jr. was.

Inspire Me Mondays: New Year, Fresh Start

mantras

Peace Soulstars,

Happy new year and new beginnings to all! I hope your new year is getting off to a positive start!  I can confidently say that I prepared for 2017 during 2016 (and prior) by changing my thought process and putting in work accordingly.  Mantras have helped me tremendously in my life journey particularly on a spiritual level.  I now don’t feel a need to make new year’s resolutions and have given up the whole ideal that I’m going to miraculously be a “different” person in the new year.  Instead, I take it one day at a time to do what I need to make the best of life.

I cannot stress enough how changing the way that I think has impacted my overall outlook on everything.  Less focus on things I cannot control and more focus on what I can control while understanding that thoughts do have power…Words do as well.  So, for a boost of inspiration, I thought it would be fitting to start off the first week of 2017  with mantras that help you reach a higher level of consciousness.  The mindunleashed shares 10 mantras that will get you immense peace of mind, spirit, and energy.    All of these mantras have played a major role in my spiritual growth and all other areas of my wellbeing.

Inspire Me Mondays: Evolve Anyway!

“As you evolve you will make a lot of people uncomfortable…EVOLVE ANYWAY!”

Peace Soulstars,

Not everyone will get you.  When you start making changes in your life other people  will criticize what they don’t understand.  Don’t entertain it…You are under NO obligation to fit a mold that other people set for you that includes your parents, family members, so-called friends…Whoever…Your life is YOUR life.  You don’t have to be the same person you were yesterday, last week, or years ago.  You are not your mistakes, anything that happened to you, or what people want you to be.  If they want to hold old shit over your head that’s not your problem.  You don’t have to meet other people’s needs, wants, or expectations of what they think you should be.  If they don’t understand you it’s not your job to convince them of anything.

Continue to be great and be even greater when they try to interrupt your flow.

Inspire Me Mondays: Want change? You gotta put in work.

“Faith without works is dead…”

Peace Soulstars,

So often we’re bombarded with the notion that we need to “think and be positive”. Then we have the audacity to add “no matter what’s going on”.  More times than not we think that this means we must ignore the negative thoughts and feelings altogether.  This is where we make a huge mistake.  Being positive doesn’t mean that you should ignore what makes you uncomfortable.  It’s the same concept as taking medicine instead of treating the root of the problem when addressing an illness.  The medicine only scratches at the surface.  If you don’t get to the cause of the problem it’s pointless to just treat the symptoms.  The problem will still be there.  You can try to recite all of the mantras and affirmations in the world, you can read books, and even follow your favorite spiritual gurus on instagram and youtube.  If you don’t put in the work, you are just moving around in circles going nowhere.  Thinking positive alone is not going to cut it if you haven’t addressed what brings you pain.

Real talk.  I am speaking from experience when I say that “faith without works is dead”.   I used to go to church, hear the “word”, sing and clap along to the choir but when I went home I didn’t follow through.  I didn’t continue to do the work when the real tests came along.  Therefore, I stayed stagnant.  You are doing yourself a disservice if you don’t apply the knowledge you receive.  Knowledge is powerful when applied.  Then it becomes wisdom.  That’s where the power comes from.  Wisdom is power.  Don’t let another day go by without putting in the work.  It takes a lot of courage to dive deep.  You have to hold that mirror up to your face with flaws and all.  I’m not talking about the aesthetic flaws either.  I’m referring to what causes you pain.  Once you start identifying where your pain is coming from and you sit in those feelings you have only begun to dig deeper.    No, it’s not easy but how do you think that rose grew from concrete?   It had to put in work to continue to grow even though it was deemed to be impossible.

Inspire Me Mondays: Gratitude brings peace…

“Happiness cannot be traveled to, owned, earned, worn, or consumed.  Happiness is the spiritual experience of living every minute with love, grace and gratitude…”~Denis Waitley

Peace Soulstars,

Interesting that I was led to have “gratitude” set the tone for this inspiring Monday and it happens to be Thanksgiving week.  That wasn’t planned.  Honestly, gratitude has been at the forefront of my mind and heart for a while now.  Even when I lose sight, I come right back  because my spirit doesn’t allow me to stray for long.  We’re human and sometimes we tend to forget but as long as you remember that peace begins with gratitude you’re on the right track.  Most importantly, keep in mind that gratitude is not something that should only be reserved for once a year.  Gratitude is always a virtue no matter what time of the year.
